The Thrillah In Manila…

Posted in Thoughts on September 26, 2008 by Frank Vaughn

What an amazing God we serve! This past week I was in Manila, AR hanging out with the students at FBC. I can honestly say that God blew me away! So many times I try to keep God in a box, I limit Him to what I “think” He can do. I’m reminded that His ability is not based on my availability. He is God and He can and will do what He pleases. Having said that, I’m so thankful He had me in Arkansas this past week. God saved around 30 students and many others made commitments as well. God doesn’t think outside the box, He rip’s it to pieces! Give Him glory!

Summer Blues?

Posted in Thoughts on August 6, 2008 by Frank Vaughn

I can’t believe that summer has almost come to a close. Looking back now it seems that I had just started to pack my bags for camp in Tennessee. Five weeks on the road will make an old man out of anybody. What an amazing time. God did big things this summer, even bigger than I imagined. This summer we saw 45 people turn from there sin and call on Christ as Lord! Wow, I mean, amazing! Not only that, but at outR.A.G.E. over 20 students felt the call to ministry. I love what Ryan and R.A.G.E. Ministries is doing for the Lord. Those guys are equipping next generation leaders that aren’t waiting for the next generation to come around! So as I have began to somewhat settle back down into the comfort of this chair in my office I pray that God will keep me lit and not content with where I am in regards to where He is! Be in prayer for 209 as we continue to seek after His face in all we do.

Wireless Controller?

Posted in Thoughts on May 9, 2008 by Frank Vaughn

I love to play the X Box 360. The sports games are the ones I really enjoy playing. I’ll never forget a couple months ago when I actually lost one of my wireless controllers to the gaming system. You see without the controller I was unable to play. Needless to say Georgia had taken the controller hostage and hid it under the couch!

“But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them are not Christians at all.) Since Christ lives within you, even though your body will die because of sin, your spirit is alive because you have been made right with God.” Romans 8:9-10

Today I feel pretty good, yesterday wasn’t so hot as I like so many others struggle with giving God full control of my life. It shouldn’t be “My” life it should be His inside of me. Sometimes it’s as if I take the controller of my life and give it to God only to take it back as a selfish gesture. In the passage above we see that we as Christian’s should be controlled by the Spirit. God does desire to be God in our lives however He gives us the choice until He ultimately steps in to end the hostage standoff. If your thinking that you are in control or that you have it all figured out let me warn you that when you are in control of your life it’s actually Satan that’s leading the way. He is the one pushing the buttons, making you jump, run, and walk away from God Almighty. Look at your life today and ask this simple question; Who’s in control of my life?

Fuel = Unity In Progress!

Posted in Thoughts on May 1, 2008 by Frank Vaughn

Last night I had the honor of sharing Jesus with about 600 students at Fuel, a city wide gathering of students at Hope church in Tupelo. The amazing thing about this event is that fact that a couple students got together and decided to try and break down barriers between church’s to unify the body of Chirst. It was great to see followers worshiping Christ in one accord. United in one voice, to one King!

Ephesians 4:4-6
“There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called—one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all” .

It’s time for the body to be united. Have you ever thought about the work that our hands do or what about our feet? Could our hands actually do service if our feet can’t take us where God leads? Can our hands tie shoe strings in Africa if our feet don’t get us to the airport? If we are truly the body, we are almost incapable of doing the work of Christ until we realize that we are all important and that we are all in God’s desire to save the lost! May we unite together in hands and feet, under one passion to serve the King!

God is…….

Posted in Thoughts on April 29, 2008 by Frank Vaughn

In our stereo motion world it is so easy to misplace and misuse words, to defect and defile meanings. A couple weeks ago during a revival I had the opportunity to serve with Chris Wallace. Chris is a worship leader from Southaven, Ms. He serves on staff @ Heartland Church. He and I had many conversations about this word “Awesome.” We talked about how this word really can truly only describe God! Not that there is any one word that speaks of His greatness, righteousness, graceful, wrathful, loving, being that He is! However, if I could choose one word, one simple, yet unimaginable word it would have to “Awesome!” I stand amazed at all He has done and continues to do.

I pray that you will remember God every time you begin to say that somethings awesome. Take time to thank God for being awesome!
